Showing Your Horse
Showing your horses on HWO is important.
Showing is the only way to truly see just how good your horse really is.
If it is a poor shower, then it may not be a good horse to breed. Make
sure you are careful to only show your horse in the events that it is
trained in. If a horse is not trained for an event, and/or is out of shape,
then it will do poorly.
How To Enter Shows:
In order to be able to enter your horse in any shows, you first must make
sure it is on the "showing list." To do this, go to you horse's
page and check the box on its info for the "showing list." Click
submit and your horse is now on the list to show. You must now find out
what its events are by doing a "Training Analysis" and then
train your horse in its events. You cannot enter a show unless it is trained
for the event you are entering.
When you show your horse, you will only
be able to show in the level of showing that your horse is at. The training
level is independent from the showing level and although you have a horse
trained to level 10, it may only be good enough for level 2 showing.
Restrictions:
Some shows may have restrictions that include breeds and events. Some
events only allow certain types of horses. For example: 3-gaited and 5-gaited
ONLY allow gaited horses to enter. This means that for 3-gaited shows,
your horse will need to be trained in the event as well as have 3 different
gaits not including the canter. 5-gaited shows require horses to have
5 or more gaits not includeing the canter. Pacing races require horses
who can pace.
Showing Levels:
Horses all start out at Level 1 in all shows. To advance to the next level
a horse must reach a certain score depending on the event it is in AND
win at least 5 shows in the first level, 10 shows in level 2, 15 shows
in level 3, and so on up the ranks in 5 show win increases the higher
you go.
reasons a horse does not move
up:
- the horse is not talented enough (it wont ever get the score it needs
to move up a level)
- you havent trained it enough (training helps improve a horse's show
score)
- you haven't won enough shows yet. As the levels go up, the number of
shows you will need to win goes up.
What to Enter?
It is best to only enter the events the "Training Analysis"
says that your horse is best in. These are the events your horse is most
likly to perform well in based on the hidden stats each horse has.
Horse Points - This
feature is soon to be added.
Your horse earns points from shows that it does well in. These points
count toward end-of-season awards and competitions such as the Horse of
the Year Award which is to be programed into the game soon. Every horse
on HWO starts out with ZERO points. This makes it easy to find horses
that are good in shows for possible breeding potential. Horses with many
points may also be eligible for the HWO Horse Hall of Fame. Only the top
pointed horses of all time get a spot here. Horses have al All-time points
count and also a seasonal-count.
How to Move Up In Levels
In order to have your horse move up in showing levels, several things
must happen. First, your horse must WIN at least 5 shows at level 1 to
move to level 2, 10 shows to move to level 3, 15 shows to move to level
4, and so on. Your horse must also EARN above a certain score in these
shows in order to move up. If you win 5 shows and havent earned above
the cut-off, then you will not advance levels. This is because your horse
is not talented enough. You can either try to train it more, or try showing
it to get a better score in the future. Training DOES NOT make a horse
more up in levels for shows. It only helps make sure your horse performs
at its best.
Tack & Why use it?
- This feature is soon to be added
On HWO, Tack gives different "bonus" points to a horse's stats
that help it get a possibly better score depending on what stat is effected
by the tack. Try to assign tack to your horse that will help it in the
shows it competes in. You can assign tack by going to your horse's page
and clicking the link at the top of their page that says "assign
tack."
Regional Championships
- This feature is soon to be added
HWO has showing seasons where regions compete against each other to be
the best region. The region at the end of each season with the most points
wins. You can sign up to be a part of the regions competition only if
you are upgraded or you purchase a competition ticket for a season.
When you sign up for the regional championships,
you decide which region you want to be in and what horses you want to
use. You are limited to 10 horses in the regional competitions.
Breed Shows -
This feature is soon to be added
There are breed shows on HWO for every breed of horse. Show results for
these types of events compare your horse to its breed standard. Horses
that are closest to their breed standard will earn the top placings in
the shows. Horses with a longer pedigree vs. a newly created new breed
will have favor and receive a bonus over other horses. This will serve
as a “tie breaker.”
