Commonly Asked FAQ's about Horse World Online:

The Following are commonly asked questions from players starting out on HWO. If you don't see what you are looking for here, then please visit the "How To Play" page of the Horse World Online guide.

Q: Where do I buy a horse?
A: You can either IMPORT a horse (found under Sales) or find one that another player is selling from the horse SEARCH page under Sales.

Q: I want to import a Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse, or Mongolian but they aren't on the options to import. Why?
A: On HWO, there are currently 312 breeds of horses that you can work with. 9 of these breeds are what are referred to as “foundation” breeds. These breeds are the ancient breeds, some of which are now extinct in real life. On the game, these breeds can be used to create the more modern breeds we see in real life. These 9 breeds are the ONLY breeds you can Import and include the following:
Arabian, Belgian, Caspian, Forest Horse, North African Barb, Przewalski Horse, Shetland Pony, Tarpan, nd Turkmene.

Q: What Color is my Horse?
A: Each horse has their visible colors stated on their page. For more information, Please read about horse colors and genetics under Horse Colors and Horse Genetics. These pages will explain how colors are created through breeding on the game and also how traits are passed on to foals from parents.

Q: How do I Change my Horse's Picture?
A: Pictures are in the process of being finished. When they are done, they will be 3d and have basically EVERY color possible. They will have growing manes that you can trim, and pregnant mares will have fat bellies. Foals will grow up from foals to horses. You will have no need to change your horse's picture. HWO is not like other games where you have to make a picture for your horse, they already have pictures that look just like real life horses.

Q: How do I find out how to create a new breed?
A: You find out how to make a new breed by buying a book from the market. Books have information in them about how each breed was created (most likely) in real life. They also give details such as how tall each breed should be etc. ALSO - ONLY MIXED breed horses can be used to create second generation new breeds! % horses basically are not good for breeding purposes unless it is to introduce new traits into whatever breed it is a % of.

Q: What is the "Local Farmer"?
A: The Local Farmer is a way to get rid of horses you do not want and cannot sell. By selling to the Local Farmer, you basically retire the horse from the game and also recieve some money for the horse. The Local Farmer can be located at the bottom of each horse's page. WARNING: Once you have sold a horse to the local farmer, you cannot get the horse back!

Q: How do I Retire a Horse?
A: You can retire any horse by clicking the button on the bottom of each horse's page that says "Retire Horse." This feature will let you keep all important information on the horse stored on the game. This does not remove horses from the game, but it does retire them. You will no longer be able to show, train, or breed Retired horses.

Q: How fast do horses age?
A: Each week is approximately 1 year in HWO years.

Q:How long are mares pregnant?
A: Mares are pregnant for about 1 week. Foals will be born on ABOUT the same time that you bred the mare 1 week after being bred.

Q:I am trying to get a new breed. I just got two foals. One is a part-bred and the other is a mix. Which one can I use to make a new breed?
A: You can only use "Mixed" breed horses to make new breeds. Part-breds are only good to breed back to whatever breed it is part of to bring in new traits to an existing breed.

Q: Sometimes it say "The local farmers are not interested in this horse", why? and will the local farmer never be interested? Could i never sell it to the local farmer if it say that? Or could he change?
A: If your horse has any foals or has been bred...you can not sell to the local farmer. This is so that horse's with pedigrees do not get their lines messed up. Only horses without foals can be sold to the local farmer.

Q: Do I have to feed my horse to ger more energy or is there something else to do?
A: You can either feed your horse or go to the next day by clicking on the sleeping sun to get more energy. Going to the next day does not age your horse, it just gives you more hours to train and more energy for your horse since it rested over night. You get 10 days each real day on the game. Each half hour that goes by, you get another day when you run out of days. .

Q: I want to enter my horse in a show but it doesnt show up when I click enter. Why?
A: Horses have to be on your show list and also trained in the event you want to show it in in order to be able to enter. Make sure they are on the show list by checking the box for "show list" on your horse's page and also that your hosre is trained for the event you are trying to enter them in.

A: You can assign tack by going to your horse's page and clicking the link at the top of their page that says "assign tack."
